Looking for romance in New York? Or just an inexpensive date night in Brooklyn? Here are 9 great ideas you’re gonna love!

Dating can be expensive. All the eating and drinking, movie tickets, and on and on. But it doesn’t have to be, even in New York City!

Just head on over the Brooklyn Bridge if you wanna save some money and still find love…

Here are 9 great ideas for an inexpensive date in Brooklyn, New York!

An Inexpensive Date in Brooklyn

Start with the Brooklyn Bridge!

Designed by John Augustus Roebling, opened in 1883, thanks to the sweat, labor, and lives of hardworking New Yorkers and Brooklynites. Roebling himself gave his love and life to the building of the bridge.

What’s more romantic than that?

What all that blood and tears built is, in our opinion, the most beautiful and romantic bridge in the world. Though renovated and updated many times, it still stands as a monument to the passion of the human spirit, determination, and genius.

And the views are definitely romantic, and FREE!

Picnic and Music in Prospect Park

Designed by the same geniuses who brought Central Park to Manhattan, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, Prospect Park opened in 1867, and has been a showcase ever since!

In the summer, you can take your date for a romantic picnic, even grill something on one of their public grills.

Or sit on the grass and listen to free concerts. Every summer they hold the Bric Celebrate Brooklyn Festival!

And nothing is more inexpensive than free!

Nathan’s Hot Dogs

You can’t come to Brooklyn without grabbing the original New York sausage at Nathan’s Famous hotdog stand on the corner of Surf & Stillwell.

They’ve been slingin’ hotdogs since 1916!

You can’t get them for a nickel like a hundred years ago, but they’re still inexpensive. You can get a chili dog for under $7. A great place for a fun inexpensive lunch date!

The Brooklyn Flea

You can find a great deal, or some fun junk someone else discarded at the Brooklyn Flea, a flea market located under the Manhattan Bridge!

You’ll find furniture, fancy old clothing, antiques, art and crafts, jewelry, food, and way more!

According to Time Out NY, it’s one of the best ‘pick-up’ spots in NY! But of course, you already have a date, so be good!

They’re open Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm

The Coney Island Museum

While you’re in Brooklyn, another great inexpensive date location is the Coney Island Museum.

They have tons of artifacts and memorabilia about the world’s first amusement park!

Take a Ride on Deno’s Wonder Wheel

The history of amusement parks is on Coney Island. The world’s first enclosed amusement park, Sea Lion Park, opened on Coney Island in 1895!

Brooklyn was once home to three separate parks. Over time they have closed, been reopened, split up, and reimagined.

While the parks aren’t super cheap, you can get a ride on Deno’s Wonder Wheel without breaking the bank. And you can wander around the park for free!

Cuteness Overload at The Brooklyn Cat Cafe

Okay, this one is for cat lovers, and probably for those who aren’t allergic. No one wants to sneeze through their date. It’s not that romantic…cat cafe brooklyn

But if you and your date love kitties, than this is the place!

They are a cat rescue non-profit, and opened in 2016 to provide low-cost veterinary services and adoption support for homeless kitties.

Since then they’ve rescued over 5000 cats, and over 100 other animals.

For just $10 per adult, you can hang out with loads of rescue cats for 30 minutes!

You can pet them, give them approved kitty treats, and take photos! But don’t wake up sleepy kitties! It’s against the rules.

Also, don’t climb on the furniture; it belongs to the cats, of course.

They’re open Friday through Sunday, Noon to 7pm!

Dance and Party at the House of Yes

If you love crazy night life, dressing up in costumes, and really wanna shake your booty, then you have to check out The House of Yes.

What the heck is that?

It’s a collective of way out there artists, from dancers to aerial circus performers, and a whole lot more.

Grab a themed costume and join the fun. Dance your butt off!

Some events are even FREE, if you’re in costume and RSVP!

What kind of stuff will you see and do?

Check out their regular Dirty Circus Variety Show. Or their Wednesday night Every Body Party, a celebration of queer, trans, and BIPOC communities.

You can find their calendar of events, here!

Food & Beer at Circa Brewing Company

All that dating can be tiring, and brew up a mean thirst, not to mention, hunger!

Well, stroll on in to Circa Brewing Company for some amazing food and award-winning beer, and craft cocktails!

Bottomless Brunches!

Every Saturday and Sunday they have their bottomless brunch from 11:00 am to 3:30pm.

What’s that?

For just $25, plus the purchase of a brunch entree, you get 90-minutes UNLIMITED bloody Marys, Bellinis, mimosas & beers. Yeah, that’s a super deal!

On Sunday nights they have Karaoke, so you and your date can show off your vocal skills.

Tuesday is Happy Day!

They offer $5 draft beers, all day and night!

On Wednesday nights they have a Trivia Night. Demonstrate your inner genius and impress your date. I mean, what’s sexier than a great mind?

Make sure to try the best wheat beer in the State of New York, and grab one of their famous, wood-fired pizzas, and a whole lot more.
